The Challenge
Diners Club International was the first multi-purpose charge card in the world, launching a financial revolution in how consumers and companies pay for products. Diners Club International embraces the meaning of belonging to a club and honors the value of their cardmembers' well-traveled, yet unending journey. In celebration of Ang Lee's upcoming film "Life of Pi" - a chronicle about a boy's journey across the ocean in a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger - aspiring photographers are invited to submit a photograph detailing a significant journey in their own lives. One winner, as selected by Diners Club International, cinematographer Claudio Miranda and renowned photographer Andy Anderson will have their photograph featured in a Diners Club International advertisement.

Life of Pi reviewOne might watch the trailer and groan at the prospect of another The Black Stallion, but I have good news: this is not the same. Yes, both involve a ship sinking with one human survivor, and both have the survivor interact with animals while waiting for rescue. There is a key difference, though, that expands drastically with the final minutes of the film. In The Black Stallion, the animal is a horse, something humans communicate with around the world. In Life of Pi, the tiger gives us something completely different. A natural enemy, very willing to devour. I'll get to the important meaning later.

Life of Pi Opening Day: Nov 21st, 2012

Life of Pi has been receiving good reviews, being out for just 2 days so far in most parts of the world. Seeing it on the day it released myself, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It was beautifully filmed, and the use of digital effects along with the 3D was admirable. Lots of beautiful scenery cleverly connected with the current filming technology. Not many people know of the book, but hopefully the movie will open the eyes of millions of people. I will update on the box office gross for Life of Pi this weekend.

Whoever has seen it, please feel free to post your thoughts/review on the movie, but watch out for spoilers if people here haven't read the book yet. Thank you!
